Bringing the American Dream to Mexico: How Israel Concha and New Comienzos Empower Deportees and Returnees to Thrive Legally at Home

Mexico City, Mexico - May 19, 2025 - In the immigration conversation, one story often gets overlooked—the reality facing deportees and returnees who come back to Mexico after years in the United States. Many confront poverty, instability, and the temptation to cross the border again illegally. But one man, Israel Concha, is proving there’s a better way—rooted in opportunity, responsibility, and law.

Israel Concha, Founder and Executive Director of New Comienzos NGO

Israel Concha, Founder and Executive Director of New Comienzos, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with offices in Mexico City and Las Vegas, developed a model that helps deportees and returnees achieve success legally—without ever leaving Mexico.

From Trauma to Transformation

After his own deportation, Israel was kidnapped his first day back in Mexico. Rather than surrender to despair, he turned tragedy into purpose. He built New Comienzos to provide the same second chance he fought for—through job training, legal support, English certification, and emotional counseling.

Real Solutions, Rooted in Mexico

New Comienzos works entirely within Mexico, reducing illegal migration by offering practical alternatives. Thousands have rebuilt their lives with dignity, without depending on handouts or risking their lives crossing the border. The organization collaborates with Mexican federal and state governments, universities, and private companies to connect returnees with real employment and reintegration opportunities.

Israel’s efforts earned him the Citizen of the Year Award from the Mexico City Congress and recognition from over 200 international media outlets.

Empowering Through Self-Reliance

Based near the Little L.A. community in Mexico City, New Comienzos also provides shelter and food assistance, mentoring, and remote job access. Its transparent, professional approach reflects core values—self-sufficiency, family, and lawful success.

“Opportunity and hard work define the American Dream—it doesn’t have to require breaking the law,” says Israel Concha.

While primarily self-funded, New Comienzos welcomes support from those who believe in results-driven, legal pathways. As a U.S.-registered nonprofit, all donations are tax-deductible and directly expand services for those in need.
