Broker Action Coalition Announces 2025 Board of Directors

A United Front: Lenders, Brokers, and Advisors Join Forces to Champion Independent Mortgage Brokers, the Wholesale Channel, and Consumers

The Broker Action Coalition (BAC), the leading grassroots advocacy network representing independent mortgage brokers, is pleased to announce its updated Board of Directors and key leadership appointments.

The BAC Board of Directors is composed of 11 voting members, selected from a diverse pool of industry experts to ensure broad representation across the mortgage industry. The board includes four lenders, four brokers, and three members of BAC’s leadership team—reflecting a commitment to independence and the entire wholesale channel rather than any single company or lender.

The BAC proudly welcomes Kim Nichols, Chief TPO Production Officer at Pennymac TPO, to its Board of Directors. Under Kim's guidance, Pennymac TPO has become one of the nation's top wholesale lenders. Her strong leadership is a pivotal reason for the channel's significant growth and current top-tier position. With deep rooted experience across wholesale lending, secondary marketing, capital markets, and mortgage insurance, Nichols is widely recognized for her leadership and industry expertise.

She will join fellow lender representatives Eddy Perez of Equity Prime Mortgage (EPM), Phil Shoemaker of The Loan Store (TLS), and Kevin Peranio of Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG). Broker representatives will remain Elena Boland of Wholesale Mortgage Services, Joseph Dionne of appli Home Loans, Major Singleton of Edge Home Finance, and Daniel Iskander of West Capital Lending. Rounding out the board are Brendan McKay, BAC Chief Advocacy Officer, Rachel Clark, BAC Executive Director, and Karis Koehn, BAC Partnerships Director.

In selecting these board members, McKay commented, “All brokers deserve a voice in advocacy. The BAC is pro-broker, pro-wholesale channel, and pro-consumer. We’ve carefully chosen leaders who share this commitment and are dedicated to ensuring brokers have a seat at the table where critical decisions are made.”

In addition to the board, the BAC also has seven non-voting roles which include Board Advisors and Leadership Council Chairs.

Following her transition from the CEO position earlier this year, BAC Co-Founder Katie Sweeney, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Broker Advocacy at Rocket Pro, has assumed a Board Advisor position. The BAC also welcomes Allen Middleman, Executive Director at Freedom Mortgage Wholesale, as a new Board Advisor. Both bring exceptional leadership, deep industry expertise, and a shared commitment to strengthening the wholesale channel. Sweeney and Middleman will serve alongside current Board Advisors Brian Vieaux of FinLocker and Sofia Rossato of Floify.

The BAC also announces key updates to its Leadership Councils, welcoming two new Chairs and reaffirming the continued leadership of two longstanding advocates. Jay Rodriguez of Arbor Financial Group has been appointed Chair of the Hispanic Homeownership Council, where he will focus on initiatives aimed at increasing homeownership opportunities for Hispanic communities. Jennifer Gormer of Integrity Home Lending, LLC has been named the Chair of the Black Homeownership Council, bringing a deep commitment to advancing equity and equality in the mortgage industry. Gay Veale of Epoch Lending will stay at the helm of the Veteran Homeownership Leadership Council. Additionally, Jerry Robinson of 1st Choice Mortgage Company will continue to chair the Government Affairs Leadership Council focusing on federal legislation.

“This blend of fresh perspective and continuity ensures a strong, consistent leadership team moving forward,” said Clark. “We are thrilled to see the continued contributions of our dedicated leaders. Their combined expertise will strengthen our mission to protect the wholesale channel and increase homeownership nationwide.”
